Information Commons Production Services at Hardin Library for the Health Sciences, University of Iowa, July 2002-Present. Provided consultation, instruction, and technical support to medical school faculty, staff, and students. Designed websites for Hardin's John Martin Rare Book Room. Assisted faculty in the production of instructional digital videos and multimedia materials. Wrote instructional guides for the Commons' staff and patrons on computer applications, hardware, and general Commons' policies and procedures.

Graduate Assistant, University of Iowa for "Online@Iowa," a web-based undergraduate course run by the School of Library and Information Science, September 2002-Present. Held office hours and provided email consultation and support for the 2000+ students enrolled in the course. Helped students create and upload course-required web pages. Participated in the collaborative development of new course modules and instructional materials for the CD-ROM and online segments of the class.

Graduate Instructor, Rhetoric Department, University of Iowa, September 2001-May 2002. Taught undergraduate rhetoric (speaking and writing) courses. Designed course policies, lesson plans, and assignments. Focused discussions and assignments on critical thinking about current controversies. Students learned to research multiple positions on contemporary issues and to advocate their own positions responsibly in their speeches and essays. Also participated in the department's Professional Development Program, sharing, collaboratively developing, and evaluating instructional materials and pedagogical strategies for implementation in rhetoric classes.

High School Teacher, Louisville High School, Woodland Hills, CA, September 2000-June 2001. Taught "American Literature" to juniors and "Plays and Playwrights" to seniors. Both courses emphasized close reading, critical thinking, and the fundamentals of literary research-from finding materials to using them responsibly in papers and presentations. I also coached the frosh/soph girls' basketball team.

Instructor, Etum Academy (a school for Korean youth), Cerritos, CA, June 2000-August 2000. Provided one-on-one instruction for ESL students. Taught seventh grade writing, eighth and ninth grade reading, and SAT preparatory courses.

Graduate Instructor, Composition Program, University of California at Irvine, September 1999-June 2000. Taught research-based composition courses. Designed course policies, lesson plans, and assignments. Focused on critical reading and writing, the conventions of academic discourse, and ethical methods of engaging in social controversies.

Adjunct Instructor, English Department, National University, San Diego, CA, August 1999-March 2000. Taught intensive one month "American Literature" and "Gender and Literature" courses to a diverse population of working adults. Designed course policies, lesson plans, and assignments. Analyzed literary texts through the lens of various literary periods and theories. Taught library research and critical thinking, reading, and writing skills.

Planned an annual orientation for new teaching associates, organized and presented at TA colloquia, oversaw the textbook committee, designed TA policies and curricula, and acted as a mentor and resource for approximately 50 graduate instructors.

Explored a diverse selection of texts, focusing on the ways that categories like race, class, gender, historical context, age, sexuality, nationality, and ethnicity shape the production and reception of literary texts.
