HEAD OF MEDIA SERVICES LIBRARIAN
ST. AMBROSE UNIVERSITY

O'Keefe Library seeks a creative, energetic, and service-oriented Head of
Media Services. The successful candidate will coordinate the library's media
services, teach library information literacy classes, be responsible for
collection development in assigned subject areas; provide reference service
including some evenings and weekends, website development, and serve as a
liaison to academic departments and the Distance Education Web-based
Instruction Department.

This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the media services
provided by the library, including purchasing, maintaining, and
troubleshooting all campus media equipment. The Head of Media Services will
collaborate with other campus initiatives that incorporate multimedia,
electronic information, and educational technology into the classroom. This
position will support curriculum development by identifying appropriate
information resources, and participate in the creation and development of
course and instructional Web sites. Working with faculty and students one on
one and in small groups to make the best use of information resources will
represent a large portion of this position's responsibilities. All
librarians at St. Ambrose University are helping the campus chart an
innovative course for the future use of information resources.

This twelve-month, full-time position in a team environment requires: An ALA
accredited MLS or other advanced degree in a related field. A commitment to
a high level of service in an academic environment. A working knowledge of
electronic resources, web development, and information literacy issues.
