[slis] Roland-Story High School media position
One of our grads has just retired from this position. Here's what she had
to say about it:
I have retired from my position for the last six years as
library media specialist at Roland-Story High School. We advertised on
Sunday, June 24, in the Des Moines Register, where you can read the
particulars about applying. However, if you are interested today, the
address is Roland-Story Community School District, 1009 Story Street,
Story City, IA 50248. The phone number is (515) 733-4301. The
superintendent's name is Mr. Mike Billings.
The IMC is automated with Winnebago's Spectrum. The facility is
roomy and attractive. The collection is wonderful. The staff is great
to work with. The enrollment varies between 375 and 400 for grades
9-12. It is a great school with much parental involvement and interest in
the schools. Roland-Story has great fine arts programs; instrumental,
choral, drama, and speech; as well as good athletic teams. There is heavy
participation by the students. I imagine that, partially due to the
proximity to Ames, the salary schedule is quite attractive.
As you may know, Story City is just 10 miles north of Ames via
Highway 69 or Interstate 29--an easy commute. I live in Ames.
I have been very happy in this position, and deciding to retire
was a difficult decision. If you have any questions or want any further
information, I would be glad to help. My phone number is (515) 292-5654.
My e-mail address is sjforsling@qwest.net. story.k12.ia.us=20
