The intent of this project is to reflect
Victorian era recreation on Credit Island. Ted McElhiney mimics the George Seurat
painting, Sunday Afternoon on the Isle of La Grand Jatte. Ten life-sized wooden figures from the painting were carved from wood and are placed on the grassy bank on the slough side of the Island. The carvings were done by Tom Gleich, and the figures were painted with the help of students from Davenport Central High School.
