This is a drawing of the east-west mural planned for
the Gathering Place. The project will be located near Fort Armstrong on Arsenal
Island and will include two steel murals on either side of a pointed lookout. A triangular shaped platform and seating area will look out over the River. The mural includes an Indian figure designed by Mesquakie Shaman Preston Duncan. |

TREE OF LIFE Sunset Park Rock Island, Illinois The Artist: Jim Turner To be Completed: 1999 The Tree of Life will be a flat stone sculpture comparing the Mississippi River to a tree.
