Literacy As An Ability
Literacy was historically interpreted as a basic ability to read, write, and comprehend.
UNESCO in the 1950s interpreted literacy as being ability required to use print to function in everyday life.
In today’s information society, literacy is related to an ability to recognize, locate, use, analyze and synthesize information existing in different formats in effective and efficient ways.
