a wide choice, e.g.:

Information Science and its emergence as a discipline
Impact of Internet on libraries
Retrieving information from Internet or from other large scale information systems
The concept of service in libraries and information centers
Intellectual freedom and libraries / motives for censorship / reacting to attempts to censor libraries / filtering of Internet access
Classification in libraries / catalogs and MARC / webcats
Major institutions: LC, OCLC, ALA etc.
Current issues in specific types of library: public, academic, school, corporate etc.; library consortia
Current issues relating to specific services or activities within libraries: acquisitions, technical services, reference, circulation etc.
Services for the poor, disadvantaged, immigrants, rural areas; community information systems
Automation / audiovisual media and libraries
Copyright / fair use / digital reserves
Digital libraries / e- journals / e-books / online reference services

Good papers should:
Deal with a topic of current concern
Exame issues from both sides
Present good examples to illustrate problems
Offer clear, practical solutions
Cite recent publications of relevance
Use a balanced mixture of print and Internet
sources
Avoid repeating approaches or ideas already
presented in the Internet or Database exercises
