Course description:

Objectives, organization, unique functions and services of academic libraries;
educational environment in which academic libraries function;
examinations of issues and problems affecting academic libraries.
 

Course objectives:

Demonstrate and exemplify the role of library services in colleges and universities,
as essential supports to teaching, research and community development activities.

Develop an in-depth awareness of the special nature of academic libraries
and the manner in which their services differ from those of other libraries.

Analyze the various methods by which college and university libraries
are meeting the technological and social challenges of a rapidly-changing society.
