Course Description

This course is designed to present an overview of concepts, components, and current developments in reference and information services provided in various types of libraries. The major topics of study include: 1) concepts, models, and practice of reference and information services; 2) reference sources in various fields and formats; and 3) information technology and its impact on providing reference and information services.

Katz, William A. Introduction to Reference Work, Volume 1. Eighth Edition. New York: McGraw-Hill, 2001.
