Being,
Becoming, and Belonging as a Queer Citizen Educator: The
Places of
Queer Autobiography, Queer Culture as Community, and Fugitive
Knowledge
|
Explores
"personal, political, and pedagogical dimensions
of bringing queer culture as community and the fugitive
knowledge it generates to bear on academic culture as
knowledge. In doing so, it takes up issues of being,
becoming, and belonging as a queer person and citizen."

| Theorizing
Queer Pedagogy in English Studies after the 1990s |
Introduction
to a special issue of College English that "asks
how queer theory, as it has developed over the past decade,
has ruptured received notions of disciplinary knowledge,
textual/cultural production and interpretation, and difference
(including, but not limited to, sexual difference), and
critically examines queer theory's potential for transforming
undergraduate English teaching." Argues that "the
intersections of queer theory and critical pedagogy are
filled with numerous and exciting possibilities for productive
classroom inquiry, cultural analysis, public deliberation,
and social (ex)change."
William J. Spurlin. College English, 65.1 (September
2002).
